Han Dae-yoon (33, Nowon-gu Office) secured a top position with a smooth start in the men's 25m rapid fire pistol shooting event. On the first day of the men's 25m rapid fire pistol final held at the Asaka Shooting Range in Tokyo, Japan, during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, he scored 295 points (an average of 9.833 points), placing 4th. If his combined score after the second day ranks within the top 6, he will advance to the final. The second day of competition will be held tomorrow.


Alongside Han Dae-yoon, Song Jong-ho (31, IBK Industrial Bank) scored 283 points (an average of 9.433 points), placing 22nd, but was disqualified for failing the bullet velocity test. If the average velocity of the bullets does not exceed 250 meters per second, disqualification is enforced.


In rapid fire pistol shooting, fifteen shots are fired per round, with a total of four rounds, making sixty shots in total. Thirty shots are fired on the first day and thirty on the second day. Five shots are fired within 8, 6, and 4 seconds respectively per round, hitting five targets consecutively. Each shot can score up to 10 points, with a perfect score of 600 points.
