Support for Research Papers Related to the Development of Securities and Derivatives Markets
[Asia Economy Reporter Gong Byung-sun] The Korea Exchange announced on the 29th that it will conduct the 2021 KRX Securities and Derivatives Academic Research Support Project, which provides research funding for papers related to the development of the securities and derivatives markets and awards prize money to outstanding research projects.
This project was established to support research activities on securities and derivatives in academia and the financial industry, as well as to promote the development of the domestic capital market. This year, the prize money for outstanding papers will be increased, and support will be expanded by paying research funds in installments.
Research funding will be provided for up to nine selected projects, with a maximum of 45 million KRW at 5 million KRW per paper, provided that support requirements such as publication in academic journals and paper submission are met. If selected as a supported project, 50% of the research funding will be paid in advance. The remaining 50% balance will be paid after verifying whether the support requirements are met upon paper submission. For the outstanding paper awards, three papers will be selected from the submissions, and a total of 22 million KRW in prize money along with plaques will be awarded: 10 million KRW for the grand prize, 7 million KRW for the excellence prize, and 5 million KRW for the encouragement prize.
The application deadline is August 31. The selection results will be individually notified after September 15.
