[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] The Mokpo Maritime Police Station (Chief Im Jae-su) urgently transported emergency patients who occurred consecutively in the island areas of Jeollanam-do over the weekend.
According to Mokpo Maritime Police on the 26th, at 7:24 a.m. on the 25th, a report was received that resident A (female in her 90s) was unable to move due to hip pain in Shindo, Haewi-myeon, Sinan-gun, and a patrol boat was dispatched immediately.
The maritime police boarded resident A and her guardian on site and transported them to Bokho Pier on Anjwa-do, handing them over to the waiting 119 ambulance team at 9:34 a.m.
Prior to this, at 6:17 p.m. on the 24th, the maritime police received a report that resident B (in his 50s) fell while working on the roof of a building in Jodo, Jindo-gun, fracturing his wrist and ankle. The coastal rescue boat of the police substation was dispatched, and B was urgently transported to Seomang Port, Jindo.
Residents A and B, transported with the help of the maritime police, were moved to hospitals in Mokpo and Gwangju respectively and are currently undergoing treatment.
A representative of the Mokpo Maritime Police said, “We will always do our best to promptly transport emergency patients in island areas with inconvenient transportation who need a helping hand.”
