According to Gwangsan-gu on the 25th, Lee Dongguk, Deputy Mayor of Gwangsan-gu, encouraged employees who have been working tirelessly to protect citizens' safety from the recent disaster-level heatwave on the 23rd and also supported the activation of the Gwangju Public Delivery App.
The Deputy Mayor ordered shaved ice through the Gwangju Public Delivery App and delivered it to the employees of the Citizen Safety Division who are in charge of heatwave damage prevention response tasks.
The Deputy Mayor said, “Please focus administrative power on citizens and small business owners exhausted by COVID-19 and the heatwave,” and added, “I hope many people use the Gwangju Public Delivery App, which reduces the burden on small business owners with low fees, so that it can be established early and become a strong supporter of the local economy.”
Meanwhile, Gwangsan-gu is implementing measures such as supporting cooling costs and cooling supplies for heat shelters, managing the health of vulnerable groups, and maintaining heatwave countermeasures at COVID-19 screening clinics and vaccination centers to minimize damage caused by the recent severe heatwave.
