[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province is preparing to establish a non-face-to-face management system for environmental pollution emission facilities in the 'post-Corona' era.
The environmental pollution emission facility management system is a Gyeonggi Province-type system that allows everything from application to processing notification and data submission to be done online.
On the 1st, Gyeonggi Province held a kickoff meeting for the service related to the Gyeonggi Province-type environmental pollution emission facility management system, with 14 stakeholders including contractors and external experts participating, discussing the appropriateness of the service promotion method, supplements, and necessary matters.
This service aims to convert the existing paper-based environmental pollution emission facility management system into a non-face-to-face one-stop service.
Specifically, it will include functions such as online application and processing notification for permits (reports) of environmental pollutant emission facilities, provision of online services for regularly submitted data (such as self-measurement records), collection and database creation of information related to emission facilities at workplaces, and remote monitoring of the operation status of emission and prevention facilities using Internet of Things (IoT) technology.
The province expects that once the emission facility management system is established, it will be possible to quickly grasp various environmental management matters immediately upon registration, effectively manage environmental pollutants, and complement blind spots in emission facility management.
Park Seong-nam, Director of the Provincial Environment Bureau, said, "As residents' interest in the environment increases, the need for advanced management of environmental pollutant emission facilities is also rapidly emerging," adding, "If this system is successfully established, a more efficient and convenient environmental management system can be prepared."
