[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] Hanwha Life announced on the 1st that it has launched the 'Easy Enrollment Surgery Health Insurance Everyone Needs,' the first surgery insurance for insured patients that subdivides surgery-related riders.
It guarantees surgery due to accidental death and the three major diseases?cancer, cerebrovascular disease, and heart disease?with only the main contract, without separate riders. It is a customized surgery insurance product that allows customers to choose the coverage and surgery methods they want from 36 types of riders.
Based on an insurance amount of 10 million KRW, it pays 10 million KRW for accidental death insurance and 5 million KRW for surgery funds related to the three major diseases if the subscription period is over one year, and 2.5 million KRW if under one year. Customers can receive premium payment exemption benefits if surgery funds for the three major diseases are paid or if they suffer a disability of 50% or more due to an accident.
Additionally, it provides broad coverage through various surgery riders including cancer, cerebrovascular, heart, liver, lung, kidney, and pancreas surgeries.
It also covers frequent diseases such as arthritis and cataracts, as well as urinary incontinence and hemorrhoids. Furthermore, it covers surgery costs for benign neoplasms, which are perceived as less risky than malignant neoplasms, and non-invasive surgeries using new medical technologies such as endoscopy and catheters.
Enrollment is possible if none of the following three conditions apply: ▲ medical opinion requiring hospitalization, surgery, or additional tests (re-examination) within 3 months ▲ hospitalization or surgery (including cesarean section) due to disease or accident within 2 years ▲ diagnosis, hospitalization, or surgery for cancer, liver cirrhosis, or chronic kidney disease under dialysis within 5 years.
Men and women aged 30 to 75 can enroll. For a 20-year term with annual premium payment, the premium for the main contract of 10 million KRW, mandatory additional riders, and easy enrollment disease surgery coverage riders (arthritis, cataracts, hemorrhoids, urinary incontinence) is 14,865 KRW per month for a 50-year-old man and 14,135 KRW per month for a woman.
