Promoting Sancheong as the No.1 Destination for Anti-Aging Wellness Travel Nationwide

Sancheong-gun Participates in Seoul International Tourism Industry Expo... Promotes Excellent Agricultural and Specialty Products Seoul International Tourism Industry Expo Participation Experience Booth.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 25th that it participated in the ‘2021 Seoul International Tourism Industry Expo’ to promote the Sancheong Herbal Medicine and Herb Festival, representative tourist attractions, and excellent agricultural and specialty products.


The Seoul International Tourism Industry Expo, hosted by ‘KOTFA,’ an international tourism exhibition specialist company leading the development of Korean tourism culture, is being held at COEX in Seoul until the 27th.


The expo offers a one-stop experience of tourism-related content including domestic and international tourism promotion, global travel information, B2B travel marts, and medical tourism travel marts.


More than 200 organizations including domestic and international tourism agencies, local governments nationwide, embassies, travel agencies, templestay operators, tourism souvenir companies, airlines, hotels, and condo operators are participating, operating over 300 booths, making it the largest scale event in Korea.


The county widely promotes representative tourist attractions such as Jirisan Cheonwangbong Peak, Namsa Yedamchon known for traditional hanok and old walls, Sancheong Hwangmaesan Mountain, and Gyeongho River rafting, themed as the number one anti-aging wellness travel destination.


In particular, it also promoted the Sancheong Herbal Medicine and Herb Festival, selected as a representative domestic cultural tourism festival by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, along with excellent agricultural and specialty products such as Sancheong herbs, wild ginseng liquor, and Sancheong beer.


It introduced the Daewonsa Valley ecological trail for non-face-to-face healing travel, Sancheong Hwangmaesan hiking trail, Saengcho International Sculpture Park, Namsa Yedamchon, Korea’s most beautiful village No. 1, and Donguibogam Village, a mecca of wellness travel.


Also, following the tourism trend of health, it held events that received positive responses such as making herbal medicine hand sanitizers using medicinal herbs grown in the clean valley of Jirisan Sancheong, and traditional games available at Namsa Yedamchon including Tuho throwing and Wangje kicking.


In addition to offline promotion, an online social marketing event titled ‘Become Friends with Sancheong-gun’ was also conducted.


A county official said, “Ahead of the post-COVID-19 era, interest in health, healing, and rest is higher than ever. Our Sancheong-gun has diverse and distinctive excellent tourism resources, making it highly competitive,” and added, “We will continue to strive to raise awareness of Sancheong anti-aging wellness travel and attract tourists.”
