[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] The Namnyeo Saemaeul Association of Chilseo-myeon, Haman-gun, Gyeongnam, is creating heartwarming stories in the local community by providing environmental maintenance such as wallpapering and floor mat replacement for elderly people living alone.
This wallpaper and floor mat project is an annual local love-sharing activity that selects neighbors in need to carry out wallpapering, floor mat replacement, environmental maintenance, and cleaning.
This year, it was conducted for the second time following the Bonyongseong Village in Chilseo-myeon in May.
Mr. Kim (86), who lives in Hoesan-ri, said, "The waterproofing on the roof of my house was not working, so mold grew on the wallpaper and it was damp, making it impossible to organize the house. I am really grateful that they replaced the wallpaper and floor mats, making it like a new home."
Meanwhile, the Chilseo-myeon Saemaeul Association carries out many projects such as eco-friendly disinfection, collection of used clothes and waste batteries to practice neighborly love and sharing based on the Saemaeul spirit.
