The government announced on the 11th that it will extend the current social distancing measures (Level 2 in the metropolitan area, Level 1.5 in non-metropolitan areas) and the ban on private gatherings of five or more people for three more weeks. At the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (CDSCH) meeting that day, Kwon Deok-cheol, the first head of CDSCH, stated, "From June 14 to July 4, for the next three weeks, we will maintain the current measures of Level 2 in the metropolitan area, Level 1.5 in non-metropolitan areas, and the ban on private gatherings of five or more people." The current measures, which have been in effect since February 15, have been extended seven times and have been maintained for four months.
