Operation of 'Social Economy Popup Store' at Jamsil Station Subway Shopping Center in Songpa-gu Relay Market Products

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) is operating the "Songpa Social Economy Relay Market" at the underground shopping area of Jamsil Station's Line 2-8 connecting passage until July 4th to help social economy enterprises struggling due to COVID-19 to develop sales channels.

Social economy refers to people-centered economic activities that prioritize ▲realizing universal community benefits ▲labor-centered profit distribution ▲democratic participation ▲sustainability of society and ecosystems.

Through this event, Songpa-gu expects to promote and sell products of social enterprises at Jamsil Station, which is used by nearly 120,000 people annually, while encouraging passersby to engage in 'good consumption.'

During the event period, the continuously operated sales area will sell various daily items produced by 15 local social economy enterprises, including upcycled flower pots, handicrafts, eco-friendly children's cosmetics, and accessories.

Additionally, a separate promotional booth will be set up for a relay of social enterprise promotions in education, health services, tourism, and more. Welfare and quarantine companies for the elderly and disabled will participate until June 17, and companies related to employment/startup education and travel will participate until July 4 to promote their services.

Various events will also be prepared to add fun for visitors. These include foreign coin exchange booths, travel product discounts, and giveaways through product purchases, SNS certification, and survey participation.

Mayor Park Seong-su said, "This event was prepared for residents and social economy enterprises to share social values such as voluntary participation and solidarity," adding, "I hope that based on the spread of positive awareness, social enterprises can overcome the current crisis and achieve even greater growth."
