Certificate of Designation for Cheongjeong Jeonnam Eutteum Village Delivered to 45 Project Villages
Village Meetings Held for Smooth Project Progress and COVID-19 Prevention
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yuk Miseok] Gurye-gun, Jeonnam (Governor Kim Sunho) announced on the 11th that since the 29th of last month, it has been holding village-by-village touring meetings for the 45 villages selected for the ‘Creating Clean Jeonnam Prime Villages’ project.
Following COVID-19 quarantine guidelines, the county held meetings in each village to deliver the Clean Jeonnam Prime Village designation certificates to village representatives, explain the purpose and precautions of the project, and promote the project by watching the Prime Village Song music video and explaining how to subscribe to the Prime Jeonnam Tube channel.
After delivering the certificates, each village visited the project sites, unfurled banners, and collectively reaffirmed their commitment to the project.
The Creating Clean Jeonnam Prime Villages project is a Jeonnam provincial policy initiative aimed at realizing the Blue Economy, which received applications from each eup and myeon and ultimately selected 45 villages.
Since the project is a resident autonomy initiative, the county plans to form village promotion teams consisting of eup and myeon chiefs, village heads, and residents, and regularly hold meetings to share information and check the progress of the project.
Additionally, excellent cases of creating Prime Villages posted on residents’ personal SNS will be shared on the county’s official SNS, continuously establishing a promotion system and maintaining steady communication with village residents.
In particular, the county will provide an additional 1 million KRW per village from the county budget, supporting a total of 12 million KRW including 3.6 million KRW in provincial funds over three years, focusing on gathering residents’ opinions and participation while carrying out village landscape improvement projects.
Kim Sunho, Governor of Gurye-gun, stated, “We will activate community activities and lay the foundation for resident autonomy through a process where residents themselves think and find solutions.”
Meanwhile, even after the project is completed, the county plans to induce continuous interest and response from residents by selecting excellent villages independently and providing incentives through ongoing follow-up management to maintain beautiful villages.
