[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] M's Seed, a dining specialist company under Maeil Holdings, announced on the 11th that it will launch the Italian dining restaurant 'The Kitchen ILFORNO' on the 17th. ILFORNO, which means wood-fired oven (Forno) in Italian, is an Italian premium casual dining brand offering Southern Italian-style grilled dishes, pasta, and wood-fired pizza.
The Kitchen ILFORNO plans to showcase signature Mediterranean-style dishes using ingredients such as meat, seafood, and locally sourced cheeses. The T-bone steak 'Fiorentina,' made with prime-grade meat, is grilled at a high temperature of 1000˚C to provide a crispy and tender texture. Dishes made with fresh seasonal seafood delivered every morning will also be featured as signature menu items. These include the 'Seafood Platter,' which lightly blanches various seafood such as blue crab, scallops, and webfoot octopus in broth and serves them cold with various sauces, and the seafood pasta 'Pescatore,' served with a sauce flavored with crustaceans.
Kim Yong-chul, CEO of M's Seed, said, "We plan to expand starting with the Gwanghwamun and Cheongdam locations, and aim to make it a premium casual dining brand that satisfies both cost-effectiveness and emotional satisfaction for all customers."
Meanwhile, The Kitchen ILFORNO is a newly launched brand following the closure of 'The Kitchen Salvatore,' which was operated by Maeil Holdings. The location of the restaurant is the same as where The Kitchen Salvatore was previously operated.
The Kitchen ILFORNO will open its Gwanghwamun branch on the first floor of the Somerset Hotel and plans to open the Cheongdam branch in June.
