[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Shinhan Card announced on the 21st that it has signed a strategic business agreement with the comprehensive automobile management service company Masta Automobile Management and will develop an automobile maintenance platform.
The signing ceremony was held at Shinhan Card headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul, with attendees including Moon Dong-kwon, Head of Shinhan Card's Management Planning Group, and Jang Ki-bong, CEO of Masta Automobile Management.
Through this agreement, Shinhan Card plans to develop a platform that allows customers to receive vehicle maintenance without visiting repair shops in person. Customers can book and pay for vehicle maintenance services on the platform, after which the repair company will take in the vehicle, complete the maintenance, and deliver the vehicle back to the customer.
The service development will be carried out by Shinhan Card’s in-house venture team "Alkago," which means "We will fix your car for you." Through this partnership with Masta Automobile Management, Alkago plans to start by selling general consumables such as engine oil and various oil changes, filter replacements, then expand to selling special consumables like tires and batteries, professional maintenance including minor repairs and painting, and comprehensive repairs such as accident handling.
Additionally, marketing efforts will be conducted, including providing customized guidance services by selecting potential customers for automobile maintenance. The plan also aims to promote mutual growth with small business owners by increasing sales for small and medium-sized repair shops.
A Shinhan Card representative said, "We will continue to strive to develop services that satisfy customers more in their daily lives, not only in auto finance but also in automobile parts replacement and maintenance."
