A Leading Care Infrastructure Facility in Gangdong, the 5th Child & Mom Gangdong Godeok Area Opens... 5th, 6th, and 8th Locations Scheduled to Open This Year, Aiming to Complete 10 Locations by 2022 for Regional Coverage
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon) opened the infant and toddler complex community facility “I·Mom Gangdong No.7 Godeok Branch,” directly operated by the district, on the 15th to support a healthy and happy parenting culture.
In the era of low birth rates, the district is working to establish a childcare infrastructure by installing infant and toddler community facilities “I·Mom Gangdong” by region to support parenting and respect the right of young children to play in a free play environment.
I·Mom Gangdong is divided and operated into sections for renting toys, books, and childcare products, an open playground where parents can play with their children, and a space called Ijaramteo for integrated developmental play programs to promote infant and toddler development. Services are provided according to the conditions of each branch.
I·Mom Gangdong No.7 Godeok Branch is located on the 2nd floor of Godeok Gracium General Shopping Center (353 Godeok-ro, Godeok 2-dong) with an exclusive area of 158.4㎡. It is operated as an open playground and a self-help meeting space where parents share childcare information.
The open playground is designed so that infants and toddlers can freely enjoy the joy of play in various spaces: a net playground where children can run excitedly, a wooden playground where they can feel nature and engage in tactile and physical play, a mind playground where parents and children can read books and rest, as well as an imagination playground and a creative playground.
Operating hours are from Tuesday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a break from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. for lunch and disinfection/maintenance.
The facility is available to preschool infants and toddlers and their (grand)parents residing in the area, and related institutions such as local daycare centers can also use it as a group.
Operations will begin on May 4th according to the COVID-19 social distancing level, and reservations will start on April 17th at 10 a.m. The operation schedule may change depending on the COVID-19 situation.

Lee Jeong-hoon, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, said, “I·Mom Gangdong, a representative childcare infrastructure of Gangdong, plans to open the 5th Amsa Branch, 6th Gildong Branch, and 8th Amsa Market Branch sequentially this year. In 2022, additional expansions will be made in the Dunchon·Seongnae region and Gangil 2 District region, operating a total of 10 branches.” He added, “We will continue to systematically promote childbirth, parenting, and family-friendly policies to make Gangdong-gu a great place to raise children.”
