President Moon to Visit Washington DC at Invitation of US President Biden... Discussing Cooperation for Peaceful Denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula

[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] Kang Min-seok, spokesperson for the Blue House, announced on the 16th, "President Moon Jae-in will visit Washington D.C., USA in late May at the invitation of U.S. President Joe Biden to hold a Korea-U.S. summit."


Spokesperson Kang stated, "During this summit, the two leaders are expected to engage in in-depth discussions on ways to closely cooperate between Korea and the U.S. for the continuous development of the strong Korea-U.S. alliance, the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, and the advancement of permanent peace."

Spokesperson Kang added, "President Moon Jae-in's visit to the U.S. and the Korea-U.S. summit are evaluated as demonstrating the importance that both countries place on the Korea-U.S. alliance and the friendship between the peoples of the two nations," and said, "The detailed schedule of President Moon's visit to the U.S. is still being coordinated between Korea and the U.S., and we will inform you once specific details are finalized."
