[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] VirtualTech announced on the 12th that it changed its company name to ’GamSeong Corporation‘ through a public disclosure on the 29th of last month, signaling a new beginning.
Founded in 1994, VirtualTech, after CEO Kim Hoseon took office in 2019, reorganized all existing businesses to establish a new business structure and launched a new high-quality business model in the mobile peripheral device sector. Additionally, through the establishment of its subsidiary DevGroo, it expanded its business areas by launching the outdoor clothing and footwear brand Snow Peak Apparel.
VirtualTech chose to change its name to one that fits its new business, expecting expansion into new business fields and corresponding sales growth.
In fact, Snow Peak Apparel produced stores with monthly sales exceeding 100 million KRW within one year of its launch despite the impact of COVID-19. Sales in the first quarter rapidly increased compared to last year, proving the product’s marketability. Especially in February, with the release of actor Ryu Seungbeom’s emotional photo shoot, the customer base is said to have broadened further.
A company official stated, “While reorganizing existing businesses and expanding new ones, we announced a new start by changing our company name. Despite the impact of COVID-19, sales have increased significantly, recognizing the business potential. In line with the dictionary meaning of ‘GamSeong’ (emotion), we will do our best to become an ‘emotional company’ that considers both humans and nature together.”
