[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] KOTRA announced on the 11th that it will operate the '2021 Hannover Messe Online Integrated Korea Pavilion' for five days starting from the 12th to support the entry of our small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies into the global value chain (GVC).
The integrated Korea Pavilion will host a total of 59 companies, including 53 companies jointly supported by four organizations: Korea Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association, Korea Robot Industry Association, Korea Electronics and Telecommunications Industry Promotion Association, and Korea Industrial Intelligence Association, as well as 6 companies supported by the Daejeon Economic and Trade Promotion Agency.
The Hannover Messe in Germany is the world's largest exhibition for machinery, processing, and energy industries. This year, 1,780 companies from 49 countries, including global leading companies such as Siemens and KUKA, will participate to showcase the latest industrial trends. Due to COVID-19, this year's Hannover Messe will be held online for the first time since the exhibition began in 1947.
Participating companies can leverage the advantages of the online format to strengthen networking with buyers without restrictions of time and space. For example, companies can upload product videos and photos to their online booths for promotion, and visitors can conduct one-on-one video consultations with companies of interest.

This year's exhibition slogan is 'Analog·Digital·Hybrid,' and various conferences and lectures will be held during the exhibition period accordingly. Participants will have opportunities to mutually share the latest trends related to the digital convergence of analog industrial devices.
Korea Pavilion participants will showcase competitive products in fields such as production automation and digital ecosystems at the exhibition. They will also present ways to improve productivity and efficiency based on the integration of manufacturing and information and communication technology (ICT).
KOTRA plans to promote domestic participating companies' products to global visitors through live streaming on the Hannover Messe platform. Additionally, it will arrange video consultations between domestic companies and overseas buyers by utilizing local marketing from overseas trade centers and a trade artificial intelligence (AI) big data platform.
This year's exhibition will feature German-born broadcaster Daniel Lindemann and Professor Jae-Boong Choi from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Sungkyunkwan University, who will participate in a talk show introducing Korea's strengths in the 4th industrial revolution and help promote the Korea Pavilion.
Ryu Jae-won, Head of KOTRA's Trade and Investment Base Division, said, "The Hannover Messe is Germany's largest industrial exhibition and a leading country in the 4th industrial revolution," adding, "We will actively support the creation of diverse business opportunities for our SMEs and mid-sized companies that possess competitiveness in the 4th industrial sector."
