Selection of Global Wangin Promotion Team to Inform the Festival to People Worldwide

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Yeongam-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Jeon Dong-pyeong) announced on the 9th that the Yeongam Wangin Cultural Festival, one of Korea's representative cultural tourism festivals, will be held online from the 1st to the 16th of next month under the theme "The Light of Wangin, Illuminating the Future," featuring 17 programs in 2 categories, and that a global Wangin promotion team to participate in the festival has been selected.
The Yeongam-gun Local Festival Promotion Committee recruited and selected 50 members for the global Wangin promotion team "W-Friends" through a public announcement and selection process to promote the 2021 Online Yeongam Wangin Cultural Festival to people worldwide.
In the ontact era, the plan is to strengthen online promotion through SNS together with the Wangin promotion team "W-Friends," who participate by discovering non-face-to-face content.
The Wangin promotion team "W-Friends" was selected based on the number of followers on SNS platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, and consists of Korean, Chinese, Japanese, and English-speaking domestic residents and international students. Members were selected nationwide, including Seoul Special City, Incheon and Gwangju Metropolitan Cities, and the Gyeonggi, Gyeongsang, Chungcheong, and Jeolla provinces.
The global Wangin promotion team will create related content according to assigned missions and upload it on their personal SNS accounts to promote the Yeongam Wangin Cultural Festival. Supporters will receive a certain activity allowance and benefits such as awards for outstanding performance.
The online supporters will promote the Yeongam Wangin Cultural Festival and Yeongam worldwide through online non-face-to-face promotional activities without restrictions of time and space, spreading a positive image of Yeongam.
Meanwhile, to enjoy the 2021 Online Yeongam Wangin Cultural Festival, participants can join through the festival website and YouTube channel (Yeongam Wangin TV), where they can experience various programs including the special documentary "Dr. Wangin Goes to Japan Online" and the "Non-face-to-face Changhyeon Street Karaoke," the festival's representative programs.
Governor Jeon Dong-pyeong said, "I hope the 2021 Online Yeongam Wangin Cultural Festival will be an opportunity to deliver a message of overcoming COVID-19 to people worldwide and to widely promote the Wangin Cultural Festival and Yeongam," adding, "We will make this festival contribute to revitalizing cultural tourism and the local economy through its online hosting."
