Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station Conducts COVID-19 Disinfection at Local Bus Stops and More

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station (Chief Im Jongbok) announced that starting from the 9th, it will conduct disinfection and sterilization every two weeks at bus stops and facilities for the disabled to prevent the spread of COVID-19.


This disinfection activity involves 59 volunteer firefighters from the Gwangsan Fire Station (Captains Lee Giyeop and Yoon Miseon).


They plan to carry out "spray and wipe" disinfection at 145 bus stops across 13 areas in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, and "spray" disinfection using ultrafine particle sprayers at 9 facilities for the disabled.


The Gwangsan Fire Station Volunteer Fire Brigade has previously conducted disinfection and sterilization targeting bus stops, facilities for the disabled, and commercial areas 191 times with a total of 655 volunteer firefighters to prevent the spread of COVID-19.


Choi Byungbok, Head of the 119 Disaster Response Division, said, "We are grateful to the volunteer firefighters conducting disinfection activities for the safety of citizens," and added, "We will take the lead in preventing COVID-19 through many activities in various areas."
