[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] ‘Watcha’ will be added to the D’Live online video service (OTT) box.
D’Live announced on the 8th that it will install the native OTT Watcha on 'D’Live OTTv' and provide the service within the second quarter of this year. Existing Watcha members can use the Watcha app installed on D’Live OTTv by clicking it and entering their ID and password, and non-members can sign up and use it through the Watcha application within D’Live OTTv.
D’Live is opening the OTTv platform to PP channels to actively strengthen YouTube live streaming services. Currently, D’Live provides YouTube live streaming services of news channels such as YTN, YTN Science, Korea Economic TV, broadcasting channels such as KBSN Plus, TBS, C Channel, ARTE, CTS, and home shopping channels such as Hyundai Home Shopping, Lotte ONETV, Gongyoung Shopping, and Shopping&TV through D’Live OTTv.
Through this platform opening, D’Live will additionally provide real-time streaming of PP channels of various genres that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. It will provide real-time streaming broadcasts of iNet’s ‘iNet-TV’ and ‘iNet-Life’, a Korean pop music specialty channel, ‘Silver iTV’, a comprehensive channel for the silver generation, and Korean pop music channels.
In addition, by linking the official YouTube channels of JTBC Golf, historical drama channels CNTV and Channel China, Korean fishing broadcast FISHING TV, mountain specialty channel ‘Mountain TV’, and children’s channels ‘Daekyo Children TV’ and ‘Pocket TV’, users can conveniently enjoy various genres of content with just one D’Live OTTv.
D’Live said, “We hope to grow into a new business model where content and platform grow together by opening the D’Live OTTv platform to more PPs and channels,” and added, “As partnerships with OTT companies expand, we hope D’Live OTTv buyers can easily enjoy the OTTs they subscribe to on a large TV screen.”
