Rural Development Administration Pilot Support for Crop-Specific Customized Safety Management
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Gokseong-gun (Governor Yoo Geun-gi) announced on the 4th that it held a project briefing session the day before at the meeting room of the Gokseong Nonghyup Agricultural Products Distribution Center to actively promote the ‘Crop-specific Customized Safety Management Practice Project.’
The Crop-specific Customized Safety Management Practice Project is being conducted as a pilot project by the Rural Development Administration.
The core of the project is to analyze hazards in farm work through specialized safety consulting and improve the working environment by distributing safety equipment and protective gear.
One organization will be selected as the project target, and 50 million KRW in project funds will be provided.
This year, the Isulmeun Melon Cooperative (15 members) was selected as the target.
The project site was judged to have a high risk of pesticide poisoning due to pest control being conducted in a confined space.
Additionally, there were risk factors at each work stage such as falls and musculoskeletal disorders.
At the project briefing session, Professor Choi Young-su of Chonnam National University, a safety specialist consultant, was introduced, and a project promotion committee consisting of six members was formed.
Following this, time was spent explaining the project and discussing the implementation schedule.
Kim Hyun-su, representative of Isulmeun Melon Cooperative, said, “We hope this project will raise safety awareness among members and serve as an opportunity to improve work efficiency.”
