Seoul Education Integrity Improvement Comprehensive Measures Announcement
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education is operating an integrity chatbot and promoting a 'Power Harassment Prevention Training' to eradicate power harassment and improve organizational culture.
On the 2nd, the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education announced the 'Comprehensive Plan to Improve Integrity in Seoul Education.' This follows last year's achievement of a grade 2 rating for the first time in the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission's integrity evaluation, aiming to advance to the top integrity institution.
The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education has prepared 16 major initiatives and 51 detailed action plans, focusing on designing tailored integrity policies for different targets, fostering an online communication integrity culture, concentrating on managing vulnerable areas of integrity, and promoting the normalization of integrity in daily life.
They operate an 'Integrity Chatbot' for the Seoul education community and enhance accessibility to integrity through 'Integrity Speed Talk Alarme.' To eradicate power harassment and improve organizational culture regarding unfair work instructions, they are promoting an online 'One-person One Training for Power Harassment Prevention.'
Integrity citizen auditors with expertise will participate in the monitoring and evaluation process of integrity contracts to actively block any possibility of corruption during contract procedures. To eliminate unnecessary practices, they have set 10 practical tasks, including prohibiting designated contracts with specific companies, banning improper use of business promotion expenses, and refraining from providing refreshments other than a cup of tea. Additionally, various events such as online integrity concerts and providing students with integrity education and experiential opportunities will be promoted.
Cho Hee-yeon, Superintendent of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, stated, "The 2021 Seoul Education Integrity Improvement Plan was established to actively prevent corruption and unfairness (OFF) while normalizing integrity in daily life (ON). We will strive to ensure that the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education becomes a more trusted top integrity educational institution."
