[Breaking] Cases Likely Below 400 Again Today... Authorities Watch Closely for Impact of 3·1jeol Urban Rallies

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Juhyung] The third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic has been ongoing for over three months.

Although the daily number of new confirmed cases has decreased from the 1,000s at the end of last year to around 300-400 recently, cluster infections continue to occur in various places, and the proportion of cases with unknown infection routes still exceeds 20%, creating an unstable situation where the number of confirmed cases could increase again at any time.

In particular, more than 1,600 permits have been filed for the March 1st Seoul downtown rally, which is expected to attract large crowds, and with the start of elementary, middle, and high school classes early this week, concerns about a resurgence are growing.
