Seoul Agricultural Technology Center-Kangdong Nonghyup Establish Cooperative System to Promote Healing Agriculture... Establish Healing Agriculture Hub Institution
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Seoul City announced on the 28th that it will open the 'Healing Agriculture Center' in the second half of this year, consisting of a 'Healing Agriculture Education Center' and an 'Urban Healing Farm' on a 12,803㎡ site provided by Gangdong Nonghyup.
Accordingly, the Seoul Agricultural Technology Center signed a business agreement with Gangdong Agricultural Cooperative (Chairman Park Seong-jik), utilizing agricultural resources to promote healing agriculture. The main contents of the agreement include △ cooperation on the establishment project of the Healing Agriculture Center to provide healing services △ creation of a smart healing agriculture education center △ collaboration on the creation and operation of an urban healing farm model.
The Healing Agriculture Center is a collaborative model contributing to the activation of healing agriculture in Seoul through cooperation among related organizations, led by the Seoul Agricultural Technology Center, which pioneered urban agriculture nationwide, and Gangdong Nonghyup, which has played a leading role in connecting urban and rural areas. Starting with this business agreement, the Seoul Agricultural Technology Center and Gangdong Nonghyup will continuously cooperate to provide systematic support for the healing agriculture industry and customized healing services.
Cho Sang-tae, director of the Seoul Agricultural Technology Center, said, “The Seoul Agricultural Technology Center has been promoting urban healing agriculture projects since 2018,” and added, “The business agreement between the Agricultural Technology Center and Gangdong Nonghyup is expected to be an opportunity for Seoul’s healing agriculture projects to take a step forward.”
