10th Anniversary Ceremony and Graduation Ceremony of the Youth Startup Academy on the 26th
At the 10th anniversary ceremony of the Youth Startup Academy held on the 26th, Chairman Kim Hak-do is delivering a commemorative speech.
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Youth Startup Academy, established to support the successful commercialization of young entrepreneurs' businesses, has celebrated its 10th anniversary.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Kwon Chil-seung, hereinafter referred to as the Ministry) and the Small and Medium Business Corporation (Chairman Kim Hak-do, hereinafter referred to as SBC) announced on the 26th that they will hold the 10th anniversary ceremony and the 10th graduation FESTA of the Youth Startup Academy at the InterContinental Seoul COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
Chairman Kim Hak-do said in his commemorative speech, "Since the Youth Startup Academy graduated 212 first-generation students when it opened in 2011, it has produced 4,798 young entrepreneurs over the past 10 years, creating 13,759 jobs and leading the establishment of the startup ecosystem. Based on the experience and achievements of the past 10 years, we will focus on promoting the Fourth Industrial Revolution fields, fostering regional specialized industries, and expanding support for global expansion, striving to make the Youth Startup Academy a cradle of youth entrepreneurship in the Republic of Korea."
The Youth Startup Academy is a program that provides one-stop support for all stages of entrepreneurship, from business plan development to commercialization and post-graduation growth support, for young entrepreneurs under the age of 39. Despite the COVID-19 crisis last year, it produced 983 graduates of the 10th class by early adoption of non-face-to-face education and coaching systems and flexible operation according to quarantine guidelines, achieving remarkable results such as KRW 283.9 billion in sales, 3,297 jobs created, and KRW 17.5 billion in investment attraction.
At the 10th anniversary ceremony, five individuals, including Jin Hae-su, CEO of Join & Join, who succeeded in early market entry with vegan desserts, and Park Young-sun, CEO of Rajen, who develops AI video platforms, will receive the Minister of SMEs and Startups Award, and 22 individuals, including Lee Won-gyu, CEO of Fullstack, who provides customer verification and anti-money laundering risk analysis services, will receive the SBC Chairman Award. Following the ceremony, the graduation FESTA will feature the 'IR Pitching Championship'.
