Chairman Park Hyun-joo of Mirae Asset: "Long-term Investment in Blue-Chip Stocks is the Answer"

Chairman Park Hyun-joo of Mirae Asset: "Long-term Investment in Blue-Chip Stocks is the Answer" Chairman Park Hyun-joo of Mirae Asset Financial Group is sharing opinions with Mirae Asset Daewoo researchers at the "Investment Meeting with Chairman Park Hyun-joo" held on the 15th.

[Asia Economy Reporter Song Hwajeong] Park Hyun-joo, Chairman of Mirae Asset Group, emphasized long-term investment in blue-chip stocks.

Park Hyun-joo, Chairman of Mirae Asset Financial Group, stated this in the second video of the 'Investment Meeting with Chairman Park Hyun-joo' released on the 15th.

Chairman Park stressed the need to focus on trends rather than indices when investing. "Trying to buy timing is a matter of divine intervention. While it is impossible to know how the stock price of a specific company will move, one can understand the industry's trends and directions," he said. "It is important not to be too confident about individual stocks but to look at long-term trends." He also advised, "From my investment experience, long-term investment in blue-chip stocks has been undoubtedly effective. Since anyone can make wrong judgments, it is necessary to avoid overconfidence in stocks and maintain proper diversification."

The session focused on green energy, e-commerce & gaming, and the bio industry. Regarding investment in the bio sector, Chairman Park recommended investing in exchange-traded funds (ETFs), saying, "As aging progresses, the healthcare industry is bound to grow, and I see the bio sector as a steadily advancing mid-risk sector."

Regarding e-commerce, he highly praised Coupang's innovation. Chairman Park said, "Coupang is adopting a strategy similar to Amazon's. Some may say it is copying Amazon, but copying is also a very important strategy that requires insight," and added, "I highly appreciate Coupang's innovation." However, he expressed concern, saying, "Whether the Korean market will be as large as the U.S. market is a matter of concern."
