[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] UCI is on the rise. This is interpreted as reflecting the news of the completion of the final commercialization test of the green hydrogen production project using water electrolysis based on waste resources.
As of 9:19 AM on the 1st, UCI was trading at 2,375 KRW, up 1.28% (30 KRW) compared to the previous trading day.
On this day, UCI announced that its subsidiary BioX, together with the US-based EAT, invited domestic and international hydrogen research stakeholders on the 30th of last month to showcase hydrogen production and purification. At the site, they demonstrated a green hydrogen production demo test with a purity of 99.9% and held business meetings on commercialization directions. They also successfully held a celebration event for the demo test success in collaboration with Ewha Womans University research institute.
Dr. Borole, leading EAT, said, “Korea has well-established food waste separation collection worldwide, making green hydrogen development easier compared to US food wastewater.” He added, “US EAT plans to complete the development of a 2L-class module within this year, and commercialization of hydrogen using waste resources is expected to be promoted simultaneously in the US and Korea. From the end of this year, we plan to strengthen industry-academia-research cooperation both domestically and internationally.”
