[Boseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Kim Cheol-woo, the governor of Boseong, announced on the 25th that he has come up with concrete action plans to pursue innovative changes in areas such as living, energy, and marine sectors in preparation for the upcoming era of the Boseong high-speed train and the era of 10 million tourists.
At the 271st Boseong County Council 2nd regular session budget proposal explanation held that day, Governor Kim Cheol-woo announced the 2021 Boseong Blue New Deal plan and explained the three major SOC projects worth 400 billion KRW.
The three major SOC projects that will win the hearts of the citizens to realize the Boseong Blue New Deal are divided into living SOC, environment & energy SOC, and wide-area marine SOC sectors.
The living SOC projects include a total investment of 83.6 billion KRW, such as the Boseong-eup and Beolgyo-eup Complex Community Centers (70 billion KRW) and Urban Regeneration New Deal (13.6 billion KRW).
The environment & energy SOC projects, totaling 148.5 billion KRW, include the long-awaited 10-year citizen desire projects such as the Boseong-eup city gas supply project (74 billion KRW) and rural village sewage system project (74.5 billion KRW), contributing to passing on a clean environment to the next generation and creating a sustainable energy structure.
The wide-area marine SOC projects, totaling 149.5 billion KRW, include the Fishing Village New Deal (35.7 billion KRW), Marine Leisure Tourism Hub Project (43 billion KRW), Marine Mudflat Network Construction Project (25 billion KRW), Beolgyo~Jangdo Mudflat Boat Cockle Road Theme Road Project (15 billion KRW), and Jeollanam-do Education and Cultural Facilities for Teachers (30.8 billion KRW), focusing investments mainly on the Hoecheon and Beolgyo areas, with plans to scale up the projects.
In particular, Boseong County is expected to accelerate the promotion of the Boseong Blue New Deal project by securing the largest-ever local allocation tax of 232.4 billion KRW in 2021.
Governor Kim said, “We will regionalize and scale up the scattered projects to make substantial investments, and through the Boseong Blue New Deal, we will create valuable projects that citizens can feel and that will be responsible for Boseong County’s next 10 to 20 years.”
Meanwhile, the 2021 main budget proposal for Boseong County is 533.8 billion KRW, an increase of 40.5 billion KRW compared to 2020.
