[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Chun-hee] SK Construction announced on the 23rd that it has completed a joint patent application with smart home solution company Dasan G&G for the development of 'SK VIEW Artificial Intelligence (AI) Home Service (SKAI, Sky),' an AI smart home technology.
Sky is a smart home technology that combines occupancy detection, automatic control, and voice recognition technologies with a deep learning server. Sky learns the AI user's living patterns to automatically set the resident's preferred temperature and automatically controls the optimal temperature for each room by reflecting the outdoor temperature forecast. It also provides a customized living environment by judging occupancy and sleep status, such as automatic light-off, outlet cutoff, and automatic ventilation system control.
The AI lifestyle information device installed at the entrance recognizes the user's voice commands and provides various information tailored to their living patterns. At commuting time, it provides voice guidance on today's weather and vehicle parking location information, and at returning time, it predicts the user's return time and pre-adjusts the heating to an appropriate temperature.
Unlike existing Internet of Things (IoT)-type smart homes, Sky can be controlled solely by AI and voice without separate operation through smartphones or in-unit wall pads, making it more convenient. SK Construction plans to gradually apply this technology to SK VIEW complexes in the future.
Jeon Seung-tae, head of SK Construction's Architecture and Housing Business Division, said, "Through the AI smart home technology developed for the first time by a domestic construction company, we will practice ESG (environment, social, governance) management by effectively saving energy through controlling heating, cooling, and lighting," adding, "We plan to enhance the quality of life for SK VIEW customers through differentiated product development and prepare for the post-COVID era through continuous cooperation with companies possessing excellent technology."
