Discount Benefits Worth 50 Billion KRW Prepared
[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] 11st announced on the 1st that it will hold the year-round biggest shopping festival, the ‘2020 Sipiljeol Festival,’ until the 11th.
11st has prepared the Sipiljeol Festival this year on the largest scale ever, offering discounts worth 50 billion KRW. Popular electronics such as Samsung, LG, Apple, Dyson, fashion brands like Moncler, Nike, Patagonia, and e-coupon products from Burger King, KFC, Coffee Bean, Ediya, and more will be sold through four daily time deals.
The time deals offer eight popular products at discounted prices each time. At 11 a.m. on the 1st, the premium padding Moncler Chloe will be sold, at 7 p.m. the Samsung Jet 2.0 cordless vacuum cleaner, and at 11 p.m. Samsung Electronics will sell 500 units of a 70-inch TV exclusively on 11st. On the last day and highlight of the event, time deals will be held every hour throughout the day on the 11th.
11st conducts three live broadcasts daily through ‘Live11.’ Since it is live, event giveaways and purchase benefits are provided only during the broadcast. At 11 a.m. on the 1st, the ‘Show Me The Sale’ segment will be broadcast live. 11st merchandisers (MDs) will appear in person to introduce the representative products, great deals, and shopping tips for the ‘2020 Sipiljeol Festival’ to viewers. Lee Sang-ho, president of 11st, also appeared live to introduce the Sipiljeol Festival to customers.
President Lee Sang-ho said, “This year, especially due to COVID-19, we focused on providing the joy of shopping as ‘shopping for myself’ and ‘shopping that revitalizes life’ to customers tired of unprecedented non-face-to-face lifestyles,” adding, “I hope the Sipiljeol Festival becomes a true shopping festival full of excitement that all customers can enjoy on-tact.”
11st provides three types of coupons daily. ▲ 10% discount on purchases over 50,000 KRW (up to 200,000 KRW) ▲ 15% discount on purchases over 5,000 KRW (up to 5,000 KRW) coupons can be used according to the price range of the desired product. Additionally, ▲ a shopping cart coupon for 5,000 KRW off (on purchases over 50,000 KRW) is also given daily.
The ‘pre-order’ products, which were introduced last year and gained popularity, have doubled in quantity this year. Pre-orders allow customers to purchase at a cheaper price in advance, with 25 new products introduced daily. On the 1st, ▲ LG Trom Styler S5MBA model ▲ Dyson Airwrap Complete Refurbished ▲ Vivaldi Park season lift will be sold. Various products are revealed daily, from Titleist’s new driver set unveiled for the first time in Korea, luxury bags, home appliances, mattresses, to massage chairs.
Especially on the last day of the event, the 2020 Sipiljeol on the 11th, all brands participating in the Sipiljeol Festival will join to mark the finale with 24-hour time deals every hour, 12 live broadcasts every hour from 11 a.m., and the ‘Amazing Deal’ where luxury bags can be purchased for 100 KRW.
