Isu Construction Introduces IT-Based Smart Equipment to Construction Sites... "Establishing Smart Control System"

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Isu Construction, a subsidiary of Isu Chemical, is introducing IT-based smart equipment to construction sites.

The equipment to be introduced includes smart construction devices such as ▲temperature measurement and facial recognition access control system ▲smart helmets ▲tower crane downward cameras ▲3D drone mapping. The company plans to start with ‘Brownstone Bupyeong’ located in Samsan-dong, Incheon, and ‘Yangsan Mulgeum Brownstone’ in Yangsan, Gyeongnam, and expand to all sites to establish a smart site management environment.

In response to COVID-19, Isu Construction recently upgraded its existing access control system with a temperature measurement and facial recognition access control system to strengthen health management capabilities at construction sites. Along with this, smart equipment such as smart helmets and tower crane downward cameras monitor worker safety and enable systematic work status management online.

The company expects that the use of advanced equipment such as drones and the expansion of 3D-based construction management will allow more accurate and safer quality verification of construction status, periodic process management, and safety inspections of hazardous areas. In the long term, they plan to fundamentally change site management methods by establishing a three-dimensional analysis and data-driven decision-making system for the entire construction management process.

Isu Construction has also introduced smart technology not only at construction sites but also in the recently sold ‘Brownstone Bupyeong’. Biometric (facial) recognition home security has been applied to the entrance of each unit to enhance convenience and security for residents. Additionally, smart construction technologies are actively utilized in apartment convenience facilities, such as mist systems and fine dust signal lights in parks and playgrounds to reduce fine dust.

An Isu Construction official said, “We will improve process, quality, and safety management by building a ‘smart control system’ through IoT technology aimed at securing convenience for apartment residents as well as real-time data acquisition and utilization at construction sites,” adding, “Furthermore, we will continue efforts to proactively respond to the changing construction environment and establish smart sites.”
