[Asia Economy Reporter Eunbyeol Kim] Amid ongoing tensions between the United States and China, the Chinese People's Liberation Army has consecutively released videos showing simulated strike drills involving bombers capable of carrying nuclear weapons and missiles. The simulated strike drills are analyzed to be targeting the Andersen U.S. Air Force Base in Guam, indicating that the psychological warfare between the U.S. and China is intensifying.
According to foreign media on the 21st (local time), the Chinese People's Liberation Army posted a 2-minute 15-second video on the Air Force account of Weibo (China's version of Twitter) on the 19th.
The video is titled "The God of War H-6K Launches an Attack."
The video shows an H-6K bomber taking off, the bomber pilot pressing buttons, and missiles striking a beach runway. Although the target's name is not mentioned, satellite images show a structure similar to Andersen Base.
Following the aerial explosion scene, the ground shaking is shown, and the music suddenly stops. The Chinese military wrote, "We are the guardians of the homeland's aviation security. We always have the confidence and capability to protect the homeland's sky security."
Neither the Chinese Ministry of National Defense nor the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command has issued an official statement regarding the training video.
Foreign media interpret the release of the video as a protest by China following Keith Krach, the U.S. State Department's Under Secretary for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment, visiting Taiwan. The day the video was released was also the second day of China's military demonstrations near the Taiwan Strait.
