[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] LG Uplus is expanding the ultra-high-definition UHD video-on-demand (VOD) content on 'U+tv' to a total of 1,400 titles.
According to LG Uplus on the 21st, the UHD VOD service on the IPTV platform U+tv will double compared to before. U+tv customers can enjoy the latest movies such as "Peninsula," "Bombshell," "1942: Unknown Battle," and "Steel Rain 2," as well as domestic and international blockbusters like "Spider-Man," "Bad Guys," and "Jumanji" in ultra-high definition on IPTV.
LG Uplus also improved the quality of 175 channels out of the 252 U+tv channels, including terrestrial, comprehensive programming, and movie specialty channels with high viewership, enhancing picture quality, sound quality, and transmission speed.
LG Uplus explained, "As the non-face-to-face environment prolongs and the time spent at home increases, U+tv usage is expected to continue growing. We applied our proprietary technology to improve the quality of content and channel picture and sound."
Moon Hyun-il, head of IPTV product division at LG Uplus, said, "With the social atmosphere of refraining from outdoor activities continuing due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the role of IPTV has become even more important. We will provide the best service for the 4.73 million U+tv customers to enjoy at home."
