Cheon Eun-kyung, the heroine of the legendary Korean SF film 'Wuroemae,' is making a comeback as an actress after 22 years with the movie 'Eungam-dong.'
'Eungam-dong' depicts the activities of residents participating in the Resident Participation Budget Committee. It is an independent film produced as a selected project of the Eungam 1-dong participation budget in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, and will begin filming on the 19th.
It is reported that Cheon Eun-kyung is preparing with a special determination ahead of her return to the field after 22 years. Starting with this, she plans to engage in full-fledged acting activities. Expectations and interest are focused on the return of the first-generation heroine who is reigniting her undying passion for acting and returning to the scene.
A film industry insider said, "Cheon Eun-kyung has shown an active attitude by personally sending a coffee truck to support the film crew and actors on set."
Previously, Cheon Eun-kyung appeared daily in 'Wuroemae' parts 1, 3, 4, and 8, which were produced from 1986 with a total of nine films, gaining the greatest popularity among female actresses who played daily roles. In particular, 'Wuroemae' is regarded as a legendary work and the most successful series among Korean SF films.
Cheon Eun-kyung retired from the film industry after 'Jjanggu and Ddaengchil with a Hammer' (directed by Nam Gi-nam) in 1998. Recently, she appeared on the YouTube channel 'Geunhwang Olympics,' revealing that she is running a restaurant in Hannam-dong, Seoul, which sparked a buzz by ranking first in real-time search terms on portal sites like Naver.
