New Industries Leading the Post-Corona Era
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] The Small and Medium Business Corporation announced on the 17th that it will hold an on-site meeting with the Korea Radiation Advancement Association and small and medium venture companies in the radiation field.
The meeting was organized to share the current status of domestic technology utilization in the radiation field, which has been increasingly used in medical sites and other areas since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), and to discuss ways to develop related industrial sectors. It will be held at Selbion Co., Ltd. located in Jongno, Seoul, with experts including government officials, academia, and small and medium venture business executives gathered.
Participants will present various opinions on ways to activate technology to expand the role of radiation technology in the post-COVID era. They will also share difficulties faced by companies on the ground and discuss necessary policy support directions. Prior to the meeting, they will visit Selbion’s production site, which specializes in the development and sales of diagnostic contrast agents and cancer diagnostic and therapeutic pharmaceuticals.
Kim Hakdo, Chairman of the Small and Medium Business Corporation, emphasized, "Radiation technology, which plays an important role in various industrial fields including medical, materials, and food sectors, is a future new industry that will lead technological innovation in the post-COVID era."
He added, "This year, the Small and Medium Business Corporation has actively supported the growth of companies in the radiation field by providing more than 50 billion won in funding. Moving forward, we will not only provide financial support but also link various projects such as export support and professional workforce training to create tangible results."
