[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Samsung Card announced on the 31st that it has launched the 'Samsung Pay Card,' which offers differentiated benefits when paying with Samsung Pay both domestically and internationally, in collaboration with Samsung Electronics.
This card focuses on benefits through payments made with Samsung Pay. It provides a 1.5% discount on the payment date for Samsung Pay payments at domestic online merchants and a 1% discount at offline merchants. In particular, until December 31, an additional 0.5% discount is offered for Samsung Pay payments at domestic online merchants, and events are also underway offering a 3% discount when paying at the Samsung Pay Coupon Shop and a 2% discount when using Cashbee postpaid transportation. If the previous month's domestic spending exceeds 300,000 KRW, discounts of up to 300,000 KRW can be received.
At overseas offline merchants, a 5% discount on the payment date is provided for payments made through Samsung Pay, up to a maximum of 100,000 KRW. Benefits are available if the previous month's domestic spending exceeds 300,000 KRW.
For general payments not made through Samsung Pay, a payment date discount of 0.5% domestically and 1.5% overseas is provided without any limit, regardless of the previous month's spending.
Samsung Pay Card members can also use exclusive services directly within Samsung Pay, such as ▲transaction history inquiry ▲payment amount inquiry ▲checking achievement of previous and current month performance ▲overseas payment On/Off application ▲and others (loss report, card reissuance, card information inquiry, statements, etc.).
The Samsung Pay Card can be used immediately in Samsung Pay even before receiving the physical card after issuance. The annual fee is 15,000 KRW.
Samsung Card, together with Samsung Electronics and Mastercard, is also introducing the 'Samsung Pay Overseas Payment' service, which allows payments with Samsung Pay at local overseas stores. By registering a Mastercard-branded Samsung Card in Samsung Pay and completing the initial overseas payment terms agreement and identity verification process once, customers can use it at all overseas merchants with NFC terminals installed, such as airports, department stores, restaurants, and coffee shops.
A Samsung Card official said, "We expect the convenience of payments for Samsung Pay users to improve through the Samsung Pay Card and Samsung Pay Overseas Payment," adding, "We will continue to discover innovative digital and mobile-based services and lead the mobile-first trend."
