[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] The final competition of the '2020 Gugak Creative Composition Development - 14th 21C Korean Music Project,' hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by Gugak Broadcasting, will be held on September 16th at 7:30 PM at the National Gugak Center's Yeaakdang.
Hosted by announcers Shin Young-il and Park Eun-young, the final competition will feature 10 creative compositions selected through the first and second preliminary rounds. The 10 newly unveiled creative gugak pieces on the final stage have been refined through mentoring by various experts across music fields, including Artistic Director Yang Seung-hwan, master singer Yoo Ji-sook, sorikkun Lee Hee-moon, Kwon Song-hee, Lee Il-woo of 'Jambinai,' and Seo Young-do of 'Shin Park Circle.'
Notably, this year's final competition will be broadcast live on Gugak Broadcasting TV, which launched in December last year. In addition to the existing live streams on web TV, radio, Facebook, and YouTube, viewers can also watch from home via KT Olleh TV channel 251, LG Uplus channel 240, and LG HelloVision channel 273.
A celebratory stage will also be prepared where last year's grand prize-winning team Gyoro Idal and gugak stars Lee Bong-geun, Kim Junsu, and Yoo Taepyeongyang will gather in one place.
The team that wins the grand prize at the final competition will receive the Prime Minister's Award and a cash prize of 15 million KRW, along with various follow-up support benefits such as appearances on Gugak Broadcasting TV, radio, and performances. Additionally, all awarded compositions will be distributed through major domestic and international music platforms.
