[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kang Juhee] On the 12th, So Byeonghun, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized Kim Jongin, the Emergency Committee Chairman of the United Future Party, who revealed that he is considering a public apology to the people regarding the impeachment of former President Park Geunhye and the imprisonment of former President Lee Myungbak, calling it "something even a passing cow would laugh at."

On the same day, So posted on his Facebook under the title "Even if Chairman Kim Jongin apologizes, it is nothing more than an individual's deviation," expressing this view.

So pointed out, "If the United Future Party and conservative forces had intended to apologize, they would have done so already," adding, "No citizen is unaware that the imprisonment of former President Lee Myungbak and the impeachment and imprisonment of former President Park Geunhye were not individual deviations but organized crimes at the regime level."

He continued, "So what are the current politicians of the United Future Party, who have been directly or indirectly involved from the birth to the demise of that regime, doing now?" He criticized, "If they had truly shown remorse, they would have made efforts such as collectively resigning as 20th National Assembly members or not running in the 21st general election. But those people back then are almost all still in politics now, aren't they?"

He added, "Some say that the recent flood damage is regrettable because the Four Major Rivers Project was not completed during President Lee Myungbak's era. Is this the image of a party that intends to apologize?" He said, "Now that their approval ratings have risen a bit, do they think it is the 'right time' to apologize? Judging the timing of an apology itself shows a lack of sincerity."

So strongly criticized Chairman Kim Jongin, saying, "If you were truly sorry before the people, do you think it is right to go to the United Future Party, which claims to be the successor of that force, and lead it?" He added, "Above all, didn't you claim to be the top contributor to President Park Geunhye's election? The very mention of an apology from Chairman Kim is deceiving the people."

He concluded, "If you truly feel ashamed, I hope you understand that the only way to sincerely apologize to the people is to step down and withdraw now."
