[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Bong-ju] On Wednesday the 12th, showers are expected in many parts of the country except for the east coast due to atmospheric instability.
Additionally, heatwave warnings have been issued for Gangwon-do, Jeolla-do, Gyeongsang-do, and Jeju Island, with daytime temperatures rising to around 33 degrees Celsius, making it hot. Some areas may experience tropical nights with minimum temperatures exceeding 25 degrees Celsius overnight.
In the early morning, some parts of Jeju Island will see very heavy rain accompanied by strong gusts, thunder, and lightning.
Precipitation amounts are expected to be 30-80 mm along the southern coast of Gyeongnam and Jeju Island (with mountainous areas of Jeju Island receiving over 100 mm), and shower amounts of 20-80 mm are forecasted for Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, Gangwon Yeongseo, inland Chungcheong, Jeolla-do, inland Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam.
The air quality will be "good" across all regions due to the influence of precipitation.
Dense fog is forecasted in most parts of the country during the morning.
Morning minimum temperatures by region are forecasted as follows: △Seoul 25°C △Chuncheon 24°C △Gangneung 26°C △Daejeon 25°C △Cheongju 25°C △Daegu 25°C △Busan 25°C △Jeonju 26°C △Gwangju 26°C △Jeju 27°C.
Daytime maximum temperatures are expected to be: △Seoul 30°C △Chuncheon 31°C △Gangneung 33°C △Daejeon 29°C △Cheongju 31°C △Daegu 35°C △Busan 30°C △Jeonju 31°C △Gwangju 31°C △Jeju 33°C.
The Korea Meteorological Administration stated, "Very heavy rain may fall locally, causing valley streams or rivers to rise suddenly in a short period of time. Campers in mountainous and valley areas should be especially cautious to prevent safety accidents."
