Kim Ki-hyun: "Can the Secretary's Resignation Suffice? The President Should Apologize to the Nation"

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Kim Ki-hyun, a member of the Future United Party, raised his voice saying, "If you think that the resignation of a few Blue House secretariat staff can quell the public's anger, you have already entered the path of Mangcheong (亡靑)," emphasizing the need for a presidential apology to the public.

On the 10th, Kim said on Facebook, "Unless the ruling power sincerely apologizes and reflects on the erratic housing policies, the public's discontent will accelerate even more."

He stated, "Due to the ignorant bulldozer-style policies born from the arrogance that the market can be controlled only through threats and control, the housing bomb and tax hell poured down on both the homeless and homeowners, making people's lives increasingly impoverished," adding, "Amid this, the flood disaster has struck, deepening the public's distress."

He continued, "The president, who should comfort the lives of the people, did not show up at all throughout the weekend when the whole country was hit by a flood bomb," and added, "Were there no ruling party lawmakers laughing heartily in front of TV broadcasts reporting the flood news? Were there no ruling party lawmakers having drinking parties and toasting? It was truly an embarrassing and pathetic weekend for the public to witness."

Kim said, "I believe the president must first apologize to the public for the successive misgovernances," and pointed out, "It should not be an apology in front of secretaries at Blue House meetings, but a formal press conference where the president humbly bows and apologizes sincerely to the people."
