[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) announced on the 6th that it signed a "Business Agreement for Co-growth in the Tourism Industry and Capacity Building for Tourism Industry Workers" with six organizations, including JDC Partners, the Korea Casino Industry Tourism Association, the Korea Travel Association, the Korea Chinese Tourism Interpretation Guide Association, the Korea MICE Tourism Content Association, and the Tourism and Leisure Industry Human Resources Development Committee, at its headquarters meeting room in Samseong-dong, Seoul.


The main contents of the agreement include ▲ sharing and operating online courses to strengthen the capabilities of tourism industry workers ▲ developing educational courses and sharing related facilities ▲ dispatching in-house instructors and operating educational courses ▲ establishing a consultative body for knowledge and information exchange and co-growth ▲ and other cooperative projects to enhance the capabilities of tourism industry workers.


Lee Hyung-ho, Head of Innovation Management at GKL, said, "We hope this agreement will help the tourism industry and its workers overcome difficulties and make a fresh leap forward," adding, "GKL will continue its efforts as a public tourism enterprise to realize social value through education and create youth jobs."


Previously, GKL was selected as the best public institution at the "2019 Human Resources Development Excellence Institution Certification Ceremony" hosted by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Personnel Management in September 2019. As of July this year, GKL has signed industry-academia cooperation agreements with a total of 70 tourism universities and is conducting various educational projects such as industry-academia internship training, visiting casino special lectures, professor seminars, and field trips.
