Dongui University to Award KTL Certification Mark in SW Field for the First Time in Busan Area

Signed a Business Agreement with Korea Testing Laboratory (KTL) on the 16th
Cooperation in IT·SW Fields, KTL Mark Certification Evaluation Agency Plaque Ceremony

On the 16th, Dong-Eui University and the Korea Testing Laboratory signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly carry out projects related to testing, certification, and evaluation in the IT and software fields, as well as software quality support projects.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Dong-Eui University has been designated as the first Korean Testing Laboratory (KTL) mark certification testing and evaluation institution in the software (SW) field in the Busan area.

As a result, companies in the Busan area can now conduct testing and evaluation at Dong-Eui University's Busan IT Convergence Components Research Institute and receive the KTL certification mark. KTL is the only public comprehensive testing and certification institution in Korea authorized to certify GS (Good Software) quality certification in the IT and SW fields. The Busan IT Convergence Components Research Institute was recognized in 2016 as the first university in Korea to be an internationally accredited testing institution in the SW field by the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (KOLAS).

On the 16th, Dong-Eui University signed a business agreement with KTL at the seminar room of the Busan IT Convergence Components Research Institute on campus to jointly carry out testing, certification, and evaluation projects in the IT and SW fields as well as SW quality support projects.

Through this agreement, the two institutions agreed to cooperate in various areas including evaluation projects in the IT and SW fields, quality support projects, technical support projects for workforce development and corporate growth, and joint use of equipment and facilities, aiming to lead the development of the regional software industry.

Following the signing ceremony, a plaque unveiling ceremony was held at the first-floor lobby of the Industry-Academic Cooperation Building, attended by Dong-Eui University President Gong Soon-jin, Industry-Academic Cooperation Group Director Lee Im-geon, Busan IT Convergence Components Research Institute Director Jeong Seok-chan, KTL President Jeong Dong-hee, Digital Industry Headquarters Director Jang Tae-heon, Software Evaluation Center Director Jo Won-jun, and other officials from both institutions, designating Dong-Eui University's Industry-Academic Cooperation Group Busan IT Convergence Components Research Institute as a KTL mark certification evaluation institution.

President Gong Soon-jin said, “This agreement with KTL will be a great opportunity to raise the software quality of IT and SW companies in Busan and the southeastern region to the next level,” adding, “We will continue to provide support for the development of the IT industry and software industry in the southeastern region.”

Director Jeong Seok-chan of Dong-Eui University's Busan IT Convergence Components Research Institute stated, “With the designation as a KTL mark certification evaluation institution, we will provide upgraded testing services to local companies and offer customized consulting to regional IT and SW companies struggling to obtain GS certification.”
