[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Muan County, Jeonnam (Governor Kim San) announced on the 5th that it is operating a first-half urban agriculture program consisting of a total of 15 sessions for 420 residents of Namak in 5 villages from the 1st to the 25th of this month.

The programs operated during this period include planting succulent plants, which are excellent for air purification and fine dust absorption, making basket gardens with healing effects such as increased serotonin and reduced depression, and lifestyle horticulture education such as making onion kimchi to promote onion consumption and family health.

Residents who participated in the education said, "Through this education, we had an opportunity to share the importance of environmental protection and to learn somewhat about our local agriculture and rural areas," and added, "We hope it becomes an environment where our environment and health are protected and both agricultural producers and consumers coexist," showing a positive response.

A Muan County official said, "Since this meaningful education started during difficult times, we hope it improves the quality of healthy life in daily living," and added, "We will continue to promote various supports to revitalize urban agriculture."

Meanwhile, to prevent COVID-19 infection, thorough measures were taken by complying with lifestyle quarantine guidelines such as temperature checks before education, social distancing, wearing masks by all participants, and providing hand sanitizers.
