Kiturami Partners with Government and Local Authorities to Support Distribution of Residential Low-NOx Boilers
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] Boiler specialist company Gidulrami is contributing to the 'Residential Low-NOx Boiler Distribution Support Project' in collaboration with the government and local governments through the development of eco-friendly high-efficiency boilers.
According to Gidulrami on the 9th, sales of 'condensing boilers,' which have excellent energy efficiency and fine dust reduction effects, are increasing. The proportion of condensing products in Gidulrami's total boiler sales has been on the rise, accounting for 33% in 2017, 38% in 2018, and 45% last year.
The flagship product is the 'Geokkuro New Condensing Gas Boiler.' This product meets all Ministry of Environment certification requirements, including thermal efficiency of over 92%, nitrogen oxides (NOx) below 20ppm, and carbon monoxide (CO) below 100ppm. It maximizes energy consumption efficiency by using a built-in hot water tank to supply abundant heating water and domestic hot water in a low-tank boiler system and employing two heat exchangers.
The Geokkuro New Condensing Gas Boiler is eligible for support under the residential low-NOx boiler distribution support project. When purchased, a government subsidy of 200,000 KRW is provided by the government and local governments.
Unlike general boilers that release exhaust gases as they are after use, condensing boilers maximize energy efficiency by reusing the hidden heat in the exhaust gases to heat water. They have the advantage of higher energy efficiency and reduced exhaust gas emissions compared to general boilers.
Since 2000, starting with the 'Geokkuro Burning Gas Boiler,' Gidulrami has led the development of eco-friendly high-efficiency boilers such as the 'Four-Time Burning Gas Boiler,' 'AST Condensing Gas Boiler,' and 'Geokkuro New Condensing Gas Boiler.' Additionally, since 2015, it has been promoting the residential low-NOx boiler distribution support project in cooperation with the government and local governments.
Following the Ministry of Environment's announcement of a target to distribute 350,000 residential low-NOx boilers this year, Gidulrami is conducting various promotional and marketing activities through social network service (SNS) channels to achieve this goal. It is also informing about the eco-friendly boiler distribution support project through notices and banners at 300 dealerships nationwide.
Before the environmental label certification standards for residential general boilers were established, Gidulrami supplied low-NOx general boilers incorporating nitrogen oxide reduction technology used in condensing boilers since 2015. A representative product is the 'Geokkuro In Eco Gas Boiler.'
This product emits nitrogen oxides at about 20ppm, which is one-eighth of the 173ppm emitted by old general boilers that cause fine dust. It is cheaper than condensing boilers and can be supplied to houses without condensate drainage facilities at the boiler installation site. It is a suitable product to address the blind spots in the distribution of eco-friendly boilers.
A Gidulrami official said, "We will create an era of 100% eco-friendly boilers without blind spots through the release of new products such as condensing boilers, low-NOx general boilers, and low-NOx oil boilers that meet the new Ministry of Environment certification standards, which strengthen emission standards for air pollutants from residential boilers."
