[Asia Economy Reporter Jonggil Lee] The National Gyeongju Cultural Heritage Research Institute announced on the 8th that it has translated and published four volumes of materials on Gyeongju Wolseong (Moon Castle) into English, Chinese, and Japanese. The titles are "Wolseong, the Thousand-Year Palace of Silla," "Gyeongju Wolseong Excavation Survey," "Wolseong Moat," and "The Flowers, Trees, and Animals of Wolseong." "Wolseong, the Thousand-Year Palace of Silla" is a professional reference book containing the latest excavation results of Wolseong. The other books are brief booklets aimed at tourists summarizing the survey outcomes. To improve translation accuracy, the institute translated the Korean versions into foreign languages together with international students and foreigners. The text in tables and illustrations was also translated. These materials will be distributed to foreigners participating in the Wolseong interpretation program and others. An official stated, "Although many foreigners visit Gyeongju Wolseong, a UNESCO World Heritage site, there was a lack of foreign language materials containing the latest findings," and added, "We hope this will be an opportunity for Wolseong to be reborn as a cultural heritage that the world can appreciate and enjoy."
