[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] Lee Man-hee, the chairman of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (Shincheonji), entered a Shincheonji facility that was forcibly closed due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) without permission.
According to Gyeonggi Province on the 7th, Chairman Lee Man-hee entered a Shincheonji facility in Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province without permission on the 5th and instructed landscaping work.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the province issued an emergency administrative order on February 24 to forcibly close 354 Shincheonji facilities, and this facility was one of them. After a resident's report confirmed that Chairman Lee Man-hee entered the closed facility, the province is considering filing charges under the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act.
This facility is the site of the Peace Museum promoted by Shincheonji and is about 8 km away from the Shincheonji training center 'Palace of Peace,' where Chairman Lee Man-hee held a press conference.
