AFP stated that a spokesperson for the Munich Security Conference confirmed the attendance of North Korean Vice Foreign Minister Kim Son-kyong. The conference is expected to be attended by U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, U.S. Secretary of Defense Mark Esper, and U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Accordingly, attention is focused on whether the stalled North Korea-U.S. dialogue will take place.
Established in 1963 and held annually in Munich, Germany, the Munich Security Conference gathers hundreds of leaders and senior officials from various countries to discuss international security issues. The list of participants for this year is expected to be announced next week. AFP also anticipated the attendance of Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.
