President Moon Appoints 5 New Secretaries... [Asia Economy Reporter Son Sun-hee] On the 20th, President Moon Jae-in made personnel appointments for five new secretaries in the Presidential Secretariat.


Attorney Kim Mi-kyung (45, 43rd bar exam), who resigned from her position as Senior Administrative Officer at the Blue House Legal Affairs Secretary Office and worked as a policy advisor to former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk, was appointed as the new Secretary for Balanced Personnel and rejoined the Blue House. Secretary Kim graduated from Seoul Sudo Girls' High School and Korea University Law School, and earned a master's degree in Organizational Counseling from Catholic University.


Jo Young-chul (60), a visiting professor in the Department of Economics at Korea University, was appointed as the new Secretary for Financial Planning. Secretary Jo graduated from Han Young High School in Seoul and Korea University’s Department of Economics, where he also earned his master's and doctoral degrees. He previously served as a budget analyst at the National Assembly Secretariat, director of the Business Evaluation Bureau at the National Assembly Budget Office, and a member of the National Growth Subcommittee of the Policy Planning Committee.


Kim Ki-tae (51), director of the Korea Cooperative Research Institute, was appointed as the new Secretary for Social Economy. Secretary Kim graduated from Daea High School in Jinju and Seoul National University with a degree in Agricultural Economics. He previously served as policy chairman of the Korean Social Economy Solidarity Conference, social economy expert member of the Jobs Committee, and non-executive director of the Korea Social Enterprise Promotion Agency.


Kim Je-nam (57), former Justice Party lawmaker, was appointed as the new Secretary for Climate and Environment. Kim, who graduated from Eunkwang Girls' High School and Duksung Women's University with a degree in History, served as secretary-general of the Green Korea United and was a Justice Party member of the 19th National Assembly. He also served as the chief researcher of the National Assembly Climate Change Forum.


Lastly, Kim Yu-im (55), CEO of LH Housing Welfare Information, was appointed as the new Secretary for Women and Family. She graduated from Anyang Girls' High School and Ewha Womans University with a degree in Political Science and Diplomacy, and earned a master's degree in Public Administration from Yonsei University. She also served as director of the Democratic Party Women’s Leadership Center. Previously, she was a member of the Future Planning Subcommittee of the Low Birthrate and Aging Society Committee, vice-chair of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council, and chair of the Women, Family, and Lifelong Education Committee.
