Volunteer Program Call for Life-Oriented and Hello Campaign from 8 to 17... Applications Open for All Volunteer Fields, 800,000 to 1,000,000 KRW Support per Organization
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) will conduct a public contest for the ‘2020 Neighbor Well-being Volunteer Program’ from the 8th to the 17th to promote community-based volunteer activities and well-being campaigns such as check-ins, safety, and reassurance within the district.
The contest covers all volunteer-related programs in areas including △social welfare △community development △environment △education △well-being campaigns.
‘Volunteer camps,’ ‘volunteer clubs,’ ‘middle and high school student volunteer clubs,’ ‘corporate volunteer groups,’ and ‘other volunteer hopeful organizations’ active in the district are all eligible to apply.
In particular, unlike previous volunteer program contests, this contest will award additional points to volunteer programs related to well-being campaigns such as check-ins, safety, and reassurance.
This is to create an opportunity to activate resident-led volunteer activities by linking the ‘Well-being Campaign,’ which anyone can easily participate in, with the ‘Citizen Finder’ project that moves through every alley.
Organizations wishing to participate can download related forms such as the local subsidy application and project plan from the ‘Notices & Announcements’ section on the Geumcheon-gu Office website starting January 8, fill them out, and submit them by visiting the Volunteer Center on the 7th floor of Geumcheon-gu Office or by email (namusong@geumcheon.go.kr).
Submitted project plans will be reviewed based on ‘project effectiveness,’ ‘program impact,’ and ‘ripple effect,’ and the final selected organizations will be announced on the district website in March and notified individually.
Selected organizations will receive support ranging from 800,000 to 1,000,000 KRW per organization, with a total support budget of 30 million KRW.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “Through this contest, we hope to establish a well-being network that solves community problems in various fields, including the activation of daily volunteer campaigns to create a safe society,” and added, “We will continue to strive to foster a community-based volunteer culture where residents find and solve local problems on their own.”
