New K-pop girl group HELLOVENUS has announced their debut date after releasing the group’s teaser photo last week.
Donned in flower hats and snow-white dresses like goddesses in the debut announcement poster on their official website, HELLOVENUS will be kicking off their activities on May 9, the poster showed on Tuesday.
The new K-pop idol group is composed of six members -- Yooara, Alice, Nara, Yoonjo, Lime and Yooyoung -- and is currently brushing up on their last-minute training before going public with the debut album.
In the meantime, the girls’ agency Pledis Entertainment uploaded a video of other Korean artists sending congratulatory messages for HELLOVENUS, onto their YouTube channel last Thursday, which includes IU, NU’EST, and After School members Kahi and UIE.
The company announced last week that HELLOVENUS’ team name was inspired by the image of ‘Venus’ but they tried to put more friendly image by adding the word ‘HELLO’ to the name.
The girls are the second idol group to debut under the agency this year, after Pledis rolled out new boy band NU'EST in March.
